September is National Food Safety Education Month. You can decrease your risk of food-borne illness by following simple steps for proper food handling, storage and preparation. It is most important to keep your hands and surfaces clean. Also, use a food thermometer to cook meats to their proper temperatures. Did you know that you should use a meat  thermometer when cooking or reheating with your microwave as well? Also, foods should always be thawed or marinated in the refrigerator. Keep you and your family safe! To find these tips, updates and recalls follow CDC.gov https://www.cdc.gov/foodsafety/groups/consumers.html
